About Us

Who We Serve

The Southwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging (SWKAAA) connects older Kansans and their caregivers to vital resources and services in the southwest region of the state. Acting as a bridge within the aging network, SWKAAA offers essential support such as case management, caregiver assistance, and information outreach. By collaborating with local community partners, we ensure coordinated and comprehensive service delivery to help seniors live with dignity and independence.

Mission & Vision

To promote the well being of older Kansans and individuals with disabilities in Southwest Kansas.

Southwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging is a planning, coordinating, and funding agency for services to older Kansans in the 28 counties of southwest Kansas. SWKAAA receives its funding from various county, state, and federal programs. County commissioners from each of the 28 counties appoint three individuals to serve on their sub-region council. These sub-region members then elect representatives to serve on the SWKAAA board of directors. The area agency is governed by those 13 members of the board of directors. An advisory council acts in an advisory capacity for the board of directors.
