The SouthWest Kansas Area Agency on Aging is pleased to be able to offer on-line requesting of our publications.

We hope that you will use our user-friendly interface to select publications you would like mailed to you.

Just follow the steps listed below, and you'll be all set!

STEP2: Select the information you would like to receive by clicking the box next to the publication. Use the information to help make decisions for legal and financial affairs, finding help in the community, selecting a nursing home, and medications.

An introduction to the variety of services available to people looking for options to nursing home care. The guide explains the variety of community resources available in Kansas for each of the eleven (11) Area Agenies on Aging, with examples of how people are using those services to remain in their homes.
A 96-page book describing the facts and myths about mental health and aging.
A 15 page brochure that describes the HCBS-FE program. This program may provide long-term care services for seniors age 65 & over who are Medicaid eligible.
An 18 page booklet from the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services that gives an overview of things to consider when selecting a nursing home.
This is put out by the Kansas Insurance Department and is a great tool for selecting a supplement insurance policy and gives comparisons fo different companies' policies and price and the rating of the insurance company.
Gives guidelines about who should buy and provides information about the policies being sold in Kansas. Also included are comparisons of company prices and the company rating.
A Consumer's guide to Special Care Units for persons with Dementia. A booklet on how to select a special care unit in a nursing home.
An easy-to-read 60 page book that contains information on referral sources to assist the Parkinson's disease patient and their caregivers. Includes a general overview of the disease, medications, safety and comfort, excercises, and support groups.
This booklet is a gateway to ideas and resources that can help make long-distance caregiving more manageable and satisfying. The booklet is organized in a question/answer format. Each of the 20 commonly asked questions has a brief, stand-alone answer. There's also a resource list at the end that can help you find more information.
